Our very own Michael Marfione (one half of SAVA, you decide which half – the SA or the VA) got hitched at City Hall recently to earth angel & WYNC Journalist Shumita Basu. We’re a week out from their “official” wedding in Florence, Italy, so what better time to post the adorable portraits taken during their actual, legal ceremony?
The whole day was right on brand with most traditionally-New-York things – short, sweet and to the point. For anyone looking to just be married to their person already – but still have a big blowout reception down the road – City Hall is the way to go. Manhattan as a backdrop never gets old, you get to hail a cab with your bouquet, and still have time to run some errands or stop for pizza.
What do you see, Michael?
Shumita’s gorgeous calla lily bouquet, featuring a very chic salmon skirt and her super cool/reversible sustainably made crop top (where’d you get it?)
Obligatory “WE DID IT!” dance.
@ Shumita, what’s your arm day routine?
The sass is palpable, and it’s great.
I believe the commentary moments before this shot was “Let me see some attitude.” Not sure if that’s what I got, but this is officially my favorite set of images.
History repeats – check out this post to see what I mean.
The architecture around City Hall Park is truly something special ✨
Anyone want their portraits done here? Thinking about formally renting out a portion of this beautiful space. Let me know who to contact about this, tysm.
One last smooch for the road.
There’s that hailing a cab with your bouquet action I mentioned!
There’s plenty more to come of these two after next week when they tie the knot (again) in Florence. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for future posts with beautiful tuscan scenery, wedding details, and some travel tips! Head over to our instagram to stay in the loop.
In the meantime, for your viewing pleasure:
Be back soon! xx
